Guilt and mistakes
Some times back, I made a mistake (you stole meat from the pot?). One I won't have thought myself capable of. But the experience was both humbling and revealing. More importantly, I learnt to fully accept God's forgiveness. I grieved no doubt, but God does not want me to grief like one with no hope. What then is the point of the blood speaking for me?
Some days, we make mistakes. We are so disappointed in ourselves, we find it difficult to go back to God in prayer. Yes, you should feel sorry if you love God and your conscience is still tender. But no, you should not let the enemy steal your joy. You try to right yourself before you come to God, forgetting that He knows you. He has fore knowledge, yet He still chooses to delight in you. What's the point though? Is it pride that has caused you to forget you are human, flesh and you might make mistakes sometimes (my pot is currently calling your kettle black, we are together beloved).
We should strive for perfection, yes, but why was forgiveness made available? God knew on our journey to perfection we might flop sometimes. And that is why Christ is our High Priest. He understands and empathizes with our weaknesses and temptations and this is why He strongly urges us to come to His throne boldly...did you read that right? Boldly. Somebody scream boldly. Gloraaayy. Okay, I am back from my euphoria. Where else would you find mercy and grace to help in this time of your need? Beloved, please go boldly to the throne. You think lightly of His love for you. You made the mistake, what's the way forward? He has said "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." Please take the mercy. Accept the help! We are begging you to reconcile, He is waiting.
Still moping? I know Satan tries his best to ensure we do not know the truth or we do not believe it. He has no right to point a finger at you. Who died for you? It is Christ that died and He is even at this moment at the right hand of your Father pleading for you. Trying to stay sad, punish yourself, keep away to show you are sorry? Why though? Forgiveness is promised, you did not have to do anything to earn it. Christ was, is and will always be enough. And those acts do not move God actually. Christ did already.
Be assured that nothing can separate you from the love of God that is in Christ. Be persuaded of this. And what does love do? It covers a multitude of sin. Do you believe Jesus when He says that God loves us the same way He loves Jesus. Approach your Father.
Now that you know forgiveness is available, Paul will say we should not misuse our liberty. Much as God would always forgive, the spot might remain in your past. Sometimes, the consequence does not go away. You wish you could take it back. And as a good Father, God urges us towards righteousness. By the way, whether we are good or bad does not affect Him. Most times, our acts only affect ourselves and people like us. Can you steal from God? You get the point. In the end, it is for our good. So "flee from every appearance of evil" beloved.
Hold this close to your heart, God never condemns us! The Holy spirit convict us of sin through our conscience. God reminds of where we have fallen short and how we should come to Him for grace and repent where need be. But our sworn enemy accuses us. He causes us to focus on the sin with a sense of helplessness and hopelessness. He tells us God is disgusted at us and encourage us to stay away for a while until we can right our wrongs when in fact we cant do that without God. I am no giant, there are still some days that Satan tries to work his lies into my head but thank God for the Holy spirit. It is a journey really.

So, what about the person who bears the burden of your mistake?

How do you go about apologizing?
Hiii. Apologizes for the late response. It is as you have said, to take the step to apologize. You should also ask God for wisdom on how to go about it. I hope this helps. 🖤
DeleteThis is really wonderful, I will go back to my father for he will accept me and give me grace to sin no more
